Polwarth Wool Top Braid (GP15) ~ Hand dyed ~ 4 oz
Polwarth Wool Top Braid (GP15) ~ Hand dyed ~ 4 oz
This soft, lofty Polwarth is beautifully hand dyed ~ ready to spin!
The Polwarth sheep was developed in Australia by breeding Merino rams to Lincoln/Merino ewes, so the foundation stock is 75% Merino/25% Lincoln. This breed is also found in New Zealand and the Falkland Islands, with our Polwarth sourced from the Falkland Islands.
Polwarth fiber has a longer staple length from its Lincoln DNA, which is easy to spin. Micron count is 22 ~ definitely next to skin softness. Noted for its elasticity
and durability it is still considered a delicate fiber with bounce and drape.
Perfect for hand spinning, hand felting and many other craft uses.
